| Hi Gav, yes someone commented on another forum that the pics looked a bit "red" and then it was suggested I check the firmware as it was a known problem, sure enough I'd got the older version installed in the camera so updated it and seems to have done the trick.

| Hi Mark, just check which firmware's already installed within the camera, I suspect it's version 1.0.6, if that's the case look for the download on Canons website for 1.0.7, seems that the magenta cast is the only issue apart from some language updates. Can't say I've ever updated the firmware before on any of my cameras but I suppose if it's a recognised fault it can only be for the better to update, like you say I got a little paranoid when it was first pointed out, so I've got no excuses now!
